Salmo Ski Hill Wedding

May 7, 2020

Romie and Ben are creative, light-hearted people who love skiing and biking—so much so that they moved here from the Prairies to live a lifestyle they loved. They wanted to incorporate their love of slopes and snow in their nuptials, so a Salmo Ski Hill wedding was the perfect idea.

Romie and Ben met at a bike shop in Saskatoon a few years ago and since then have been inseparable. They even own a garment printing business together, VH Sport. It’s a perfect mix of Ben’s commerce brain and Romie’s penchant for the arts.

They joke that they were “business married” first so they came up with a really cool idea for their wedding: it would have a corporate theme, and the wedding would be an annual general meeting and retreat! They branded all the wedding favour fanny packs, and printed ski lift tickets with their corporate logo. It was brilliant and super fun for everyone.

Romie and Ben’s Salmo Ski Hill wedding was definitely the most unique theme I’ve ever witnessed. People arrived on a school bus to bring everyone to Salmo, outfitted them with their branded fanny pack, snacks and lift ticket, they got married, then went skiing for a couple hours before returning for nachos. A few heart-warming speeches were shared, and then the taco dinner blew everyone’s minds. Then they topped it off with an epic party.

I must say, I felt like I’d been skiing with my friends all day instead of photographing a wedding! Let’s talk about your plans… I’d love to hear your wedding! Please don’t hesitate to contact me here.
